They pipe the music right onto the beachside view of the park so you have your beachside showing of the fireworks show!

Cons: Just like The Contemporary and The Grand Floridian, given this resort’s high price point, it is not ideal if The Magic Kingdom is not on your agenda.

Important to know: The Polynesian is one of the best hotels in Disney World for families. For kids, the resort’s largest pool (the Lava Pool), features a slide that goes straight through a volcano! This alone makes it one of the best pools in Disney World. Some of the best dining is also available at this resort. Including being one of the only places you can get Dole Whip outside of a Disney theme park! We can not stress enough how much we love Capt. Cooks! This quick service location has quickly become our go-to lunch spot out of the parks. I personally highly recommend the Thai Coconut Meatballs. I’ve gotten it countless times and have yet to be disappointed.

#2 – Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort 2024

Dining Options: Citricos, Narcoossee’s, Grand Floridian Cafe, Enchanted Rose, Gasparilla Island Grill, Beaches Pool Bar & Grill, Courtyard Pool Bar, 1900 Park Fare, Garden View Tea Room, & Victoria & Albert’s

Pros: This resort has an amazing selection of restaurants, over-the-top themes, stunning pools, and even a new Beauty and the Beast-themed bar! At the Grand Floridian, there’s something for everyone. Some of our favorites include dining with the characters at 1900 Park Fare, booking a cabana by the pool, and afternoon tea in the garden view tea room! The Grand Floridian is also one of the best Disney World hotels for adults, couples, and honeymoons due to the resort spa.

Cons: This is the most expensive hotel on Disney Property. If you’re not planning to visit the Magic Kingdom, there are more affordable Deluxe options closer to the other parks. While this is one of the best hotels Disney World 2024, for families with young kids, the rooms themselves are quite plain. And in our opinion, not worth the price tag. 

Important to know: The Grand Floridian has long been considered one of the best onsite Disney World Hotels. The Grand Floridian Resort is one of the Walt Disney World’s classics and most Disney lovers picture it when we talk about the best Disney World hotel. From the beautiful position on Seven Seas Lagoon to the intricate detailing throughout, you will feel like royalty staying at this resort. While The Grand Floridian is still one of the best Disney World hotels, we do feel that it is a little outdated. If you’re going for nostalgia though, The Grand Floridian is one of the major icons of Walt Disney World.

#3 – Disney’s Contemporary Resort 2024

Starting Rate: $531.00 per night

Dining Options: Steakhouse 71, California Grill, Chef Mickey’s, Contemporary Grounds, Cove Bar, Outer Rim, & The Sand Bar

Pros: The Contemporary Resort is the closest resort to the Magic Kingdom and has a walkway taking you directly to the front gates It has an exciting Incredibles theme throughout the main building. This quickly put it at the top of our list of best resorts in Disney World 2024. We love the newer upscale and modern feel of the Contemporary Resort. The Contemporary has some of the most incredible views of the Magic Kingdom park! But we think one of the most underrated things to do at this resort is to dine at the Contempo Cafe. This quick service location serves tasty-themed cupcakes and some of the best French fries in Walt Disney World! This among many other reasons is why it is one of the best Disney World hotels.

#4 – Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge 2024

Starting Rate: $450.00 per night

Dining Options: Jiko, Boma, The Mara, Cape Town Lounge and Wine Bar, Victoria Falls Lounge, Uzima Springs Pools Bar, Sanaa, Maji Pool Bar, & Wanyama Safari and Dinner

Pros: Disney brings the African Safari directly to you at this resort! With animals like giraffes and zebras grazing below you in Safari View rooms, the elegant African theme, and the incredible food options. Speaking of food, the dining options here are spectacular. Restaurants such as Boma, Sanaa, and Jiko feature authentic African cuisine and buffet-style dining. We think that Animal Kingdom Lodge is the best hotel Disney World has for food! 

Cons: As far as Deluxe resorts go, this resort is unfortunately far off the beaten path. Buses are your only form of complimentary transportation which isn’t ideal if you’re planning to be throughout the Disney properties for your stay. For this reason, we do not consider this one of the best hotels in Disney World for families with small children.

Important to know: If you’re looking to watch wild safari animals right outside of your hotel room window, this is the resort for you. At Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, you can do just that with four different savannas with real animals roaming about them. We love Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge as one of the best Disney Hotels for adults and couples looking to relax.

This resort has some of the best dining options on all of Disney’s properties. Sanaa’s bread service has become a Park Prodigy tradition with each visit to the parks. Along with a breakfast buffet at Boma! Animal Kingdom Lodge is one of the best Disney World hotels for the adventurous eater!

#5 – Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort 2024

Starting Rate: $439.00 per night

Dining Options: Storybook Dining at Artist Point with Snow White, Whispering Canyon Cafe, Geyser Point Bar & Grill, Roaring Fork, & Territory Lounge

Pros: The Wilderness Lodge has one of our favorite lobbies on Disney property. The “ski lodge” vibes take us to forests in Vermont or even a resort lodge in Colorado. The price point is also more attractive. Is lower than most other Deluxe resorts making it one of the best Disney World resort hotels for families on a budget. 

Cons: Room sizes here tend to be on the smaller side and a bit lower in natural light. This is from the surrounding forest setting of the hotel. The theme is also not the most magical, but it is still a beautiful resort making it one of the best Disney World hotels.

Important to know: Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is a sprawling resort. Get ready to get lost while following the several nature trails, this resort has to offer! Personally, this is one of our favorite Disney Resorts due to all of its unique offerings. Our favorite is the quick service location, Roarin’ Fork. Most of the food our team has tried here has been solid. But nothing will ever compare to how delicious and fresh the chicken and Mickey waffles are! 10/10 recommend this to anyone wanting to venture into the wilderness at Wilderness Lodge. It truly is one of the best Disney World hotels on property.

#6 – Disney’s Boardwalk Inn 

Starting Rate: $574.00 per night

Dining Options: Flying Fish, Trattoria al Forno, Big River Grille & Brewing Works, BoardWalk Bakery, Pizza Window, AbracadaBar, Leaping Horse Libations, BoardWalk Joe’s Marvelous Margaritas, The To-Go Cart, Belle Vue Lounge, & Funnel Cake Cart

Pros: The Disney Boardwalk is just a short walk to the back entrance of Epcot. And a 20-minute walk or a short boat ride to Hollywood Studios! With the opening of Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge and the continued revamp of Hollywood Studios, this makes it one of the best resorts at Disney World to stay at for all Star Wars fans hoping to be close to the action.

Cons: Because of its proximity to Epcot, this resort can book up fast during the fall season. It’s considered one of the best Disney World hotels for couples during Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival. So guests interested in staying at this resort in the Fall should start planning their trip at least 10-12 months in advance.

Important to know: Staying at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn is a vacation in itself! With all it has to offer, our favorite options have to be the restaurants, entertainment, and proximity to EPCOT. The BoardWalk is one of the best Disney World hotels because of, well, the BoardWalk. Along the waterside docks, you can find a dueling piano bar, Jelly Rolls, an array of delicious Italian food, games, and more! Your options for entertainment while staying at the BoardWalk are endless!

#7 – Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resort

Pros: The Yacht and Beach Club resort is one of the best hotels inside Disney World if you’re looking to have a more relaxing vacation. You simply cannot beat the Storm-Along Bay sand bottom beach theme pool. In our opinion, this hotel is number one on the list of best pools in Disney World!

Cons: Your entire party must be staying at the resort to use the pool. This is especially important to keep in mind if you are traveling with a large group that plans to get together during the day. Besides this we still find this to be one of the best Disney World hotels for families and the best Disney World hotels for adults.

Important to know: Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club is only a short walk away from EPCOT’s International Gateway! If you’re considering staying at this resort, let me give you our go-to routine. Early morning stroll with breakfast and coffee from the BoardWalk Deli. Then heading right into Epcot’s World Showcase for the day! The Yacht and Beach Club are some of the best Disney World hotels because of how truly beautiful the decor is – you feel like royalty! Another thing we love about this resort is that it’s right next door to the Beaches & Cream soda shop, home of the ever-so-popular Kitchen Sink Sundae.

#8 – Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort

Starting Rate: $444.00 per night

Dining Options: The Turf Club Bar and Grill, The Artist’s Palette, The Paddock Grill, The Turf Club Lounge, Backstretch Pool Bar, & Chip ‘n Dale’s Cafe

Transportation: Boats & Busses

Pros: If you are traveling with a large group on a budget, the Treehouse Villas are one of the best resort accommodations you can find. The grounds are lush and beautiful, making relaxing strolls throughout the resort a great way to unwind.

Cons: The other room options at this resort are pretty underwhelming, especially for a Deluxe Resort. For parkgoers, the only way to get around is the Disney buses.

Important to know: Overlooking all of the nightlife that the Springs has to offer, this is the best Disney Springs hotel. Themed after the Saratoga Horse Racing Course in New York, you can find beautiful pastel Victorian buildings that guests can stay in. As we mentioned above, besides the Springs, this resort is pretty remote. If you plan on being in the parks open to close, we recommend a resort closer to the parks.

Pros: The theme here is gorgeous, tasteful, and bold. You just might forget you’re staying at a Disney resort! The Lost City of Cibola is considered one of Disney World hotel’s best pools for kids and adults alike. This resort packs a huge pyramid, a jacuzzi, and a quick-service restaurant all nearby. Plus, Disney just added the Grand Destino Tower which includes suite and concierge-style services.

Cons: Like all of the moderate resorts, the resort is quite large and all of the buildings/dining areas are spread out. Unless you are staying in the new tower with concierge service, the other areas of the resort are not easily accessible.

Important to know: Disney’s Coronado Springs is a super unique resort that is commonly used for business conferences and larger Disney events. This resort is beautifully themed with a mix of Southwest American, Spanish, and Mexican cultures as inspiration for its decor. It is a beautiful lakeside oasis that is perfect to be in the running for the best Disney World hotel.

#2 – Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside and French Quarter 2024

Pros: Just a boat ride away from Disney Springs! This is a great option for groups who plan on enjoying the shopping, dining, and nightlife that Disney Springs has to offer. There are also plenty of pathways for quiet strolls accompanied by beautiful landscapes and scenery. We find this to be one of the best Disney World deluxe resorts for adults. And of course … beignets!

Cons: With such vast grounds, getting around the resort itself can be time-consuming. Even when going to or coming home from the parks, there are multiple bus stops throughout the property which essentially eats away at your time. 

Important to know: There are two different resorts at Port Orleans – Riverside and French Quarter, and each offers an environment that is perfect for some of the best Disney World hotels. Both of these resorts are beautifully picturesque and romantic, but still not expensive and won’t break the bank. Keep in mind the main transportation here is the boats. Disney has to close the boat transportation when lighting is in the area! So you might be stranded at the resort or the Springs when a storm decides to build up over the area.

#3 – Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort 

Starting Rate: $248.00 per night

Dining Options: Sebastian’s Bistro, Centertown Market, Banana Cabana, & Spyglass Grill

Recently they added some awesome new dining locations with super unique menu items. The pirate pool is expertly themed with forts and water cannons that make playtime more magical than ever. The grounds are beautifully kept and will make you feel like you’re really in the Caribbean.

Cons: With such vast grounds, getting around the resort itself can be time-consuming. Even when going to or coming home from the parks, there are multiple bus stops throughout the property which essentially eats away at your time. Therefore, we do not consider this one of the best Walt Disney World hotels in 2024 for families with small children.

Important to know: While Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort might not be the best Disney World hotel, we love this option for its proximity to Hollywood Studios, but more importantly, the new DVC Riviera Resort! The dining options at the Riviera are superb. Along with it being a connecting hotel to the Disney Skyliner!

Pros: This resort is a great option for those traveling with larger groups. Art of Animation has amazingly themed suite-style rooms! The theme is perfect inside and out for kids and adults who are obsessed with Disney movies. Even the room options are fully dressed with fun decor. We think that Art of Animation is the best Disney World resort when it comes to classic Disney theming too!

Cons: Depending on the time of year you’re visiting, this resort fluctuates in price, sometimes costing just as much as a Deluxe resort.

Important to know: While it is the best Disney World hotel in the value category, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is still the most expensive value resort. We feel this is justified as it has more Disney theming than any other resort and makes you feel like you’re inside a Hotela Disney movie. You will not regret staying at Art of Animation resort with how true to Disney they’ve kept this resort’s theming. It is also a quick Skyliner stop away from EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

#2 – Disney’s All-Star Movies, Music, and Sports Resorts

Movies: World Premier Court

For kids especially, the theme is over the top and full of color. Many of the rooms at the All-Star hotels have been recently renovated, offering ample storage space and an updated look and feel.

Cons: Lines for buses can be lengthy at times due to the popularity of these hotels for families with young children. Also, the only resort to not receive an update is the All-Stars Sports hotel.

Important to know: The All-Stars Resorts aren’t the nicest hotel in Disney World by any means. But they truly encapsulate larger-than-life fun. While they may not be the best Disney World hotels, they are always a solid choice if you are looking to stay onsite but save some cash. These resorts are closest to the Animal Kingdom theme park area and even have a McDonald’s right by the entrance for a quick bite.

Important to know: Pop Century Resort is all about celebrating American pop culture throughout the years covering the 1950’s – 1990’s. Each building represents a different period and guests can see theming with iconic items like Rubik’s Cubes, bowling pins, and 8 track tapes.
