Our team at The Park Prodigy has been attending the MVMCP event since 2012 and it’s one of our favorite special events at The Magic Kingdom. It’s important to note that regular Walt Disney World tickets will not grant you access to this event. You will need a separate special event ticket to attend Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party 2021, which we will cover in this post!

While Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party 2021 dates have not yet been released yet, we will be posting them here as soon as Disney makes the announcement!
Based on what we know from years past, Mickey’s Christmas Party typically kicks off as early as the weekend after Halloween. That said, if you’re in the midst of making some magical vacation plans for early November, definitely keep that in mind!
2021 MVMCP dates have not been announced yet!
Although the dates for the 2021 Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party have not been announced yet, there are a few questions you can start to ask when planning your trip! The one thing we do know is that historically Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas party has started on November 6-8th. This means you have two full months to plan your trip to visit MVMCP in 2021!
We always suggest you ask yourself these two questions when visiting:
We always suggest taking a look at our Disney crowd calendar when planning your trip! The reason being you might be surprised that the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas parties with the lowest crowds aren’t always in November. They also aren’t always the slowest on the weekdays as we have found some very low crowds on Sunday nights.
The Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas party hours are from 7:00PM to 12:00AM. This special event ticket also allows guests to enter the Magic Kingdom Park at 4:00 PM.
Special Note: Disney Vacation Club members can enter the park as early as 2:00 PM)
This early entry is one of the many perks of attending this special Disney Christmas party. It’s a great addition for any family looking to get a lot done in a short amount of time. Guests can enter the park early and take pictures, ride a few attractions, or even make dinner reservations before the special event starts.
The Magic Kingdom park closes at 6:00 PM to regular guests during all Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party nights. We see questions every years asking how Disney handles the transition over to allow for MVMCP guests to stay. This is handles in two ways:
Park guests who enter The Magic Kingdom after 4:00 PM will be guided by cast members to specific entrances. Once you enter the turnstile a cast member will give you a bracelet allowing you to remain in the park after 6:00 PM.
You will not have to walk to the entrance of the park for a wristband if your family spent the day in the park. Simply ask a cast member for the nearest wristband station throughout the park.
We typically find wristband stations in Tomorrowland, Fantasyland, and Adventureland.
All park guests without wristbands will be filtered out throughout the park in an organized fashion.
Being that this is a special-ticketed event, we’d like to first call out that a general admission ticket to the Magic Kingdom will NOT grant you access to the Christmas celebration.
The cost of 2021 Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party tickets will vary by date, starting at $105 for adults and $100 for children before tax. When we say “vary by date,” we mean that by depending on how in-demand the tickets are, the higher price you’ll pay. For example, on party dates closer to Christmas, an adult admission ticket will cost you upwards of $148, and a children’s ticket will run you roughly $142.
Our advice for anyone visiting on a budget is to plan on attending Mickey’s Christmas Party as early in November as possible.
Last year’s Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas tickets sold out early six times. We would definitely recommend making your purchase early in advance if you know you plan on attending.

Ah, the biggest question of them all—when is the best time to attend Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party?! If you’re planning your vacation on a strict budget, you’ll want to snag your MVMCP tickets for one of the earlier parties scheduled during the beginning of the season in November.
Pricing is a big indicator of when Disney expects crowds to be the lowest. We have also found the first few parties in early November to be extremely popular and have sold out the past few years. This also has a lot to due with the popular EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival taking place during this time.
We typically recommend visiting this event during the first two weeks of December. But If you’re concerned about crowd levels, we’d recommend comparing Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party dates 2021 to our Disney World Crowd Calendar to get a better understanding of when the event will be the least crowded.
Knowing what’s most important to you and your family (crowds or budget), will help you determine when the absolute best time to go to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party 2021.
With so much fun to be had, it’s important to go in with a game plan based on what you (or your family) want to experience most. Between rare character meet and greets, endless entertainment and tons of special activities, having a plan is critical.
As for a complete Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party schedule 2021, here’s a quick glance at last year’s run of show.
In between shows, you can easily hop on a quick ride with usually less than a twenty minute wait! Pro tip: during the Magic Kingdom Christmas fireworks, you can catch a really impressive view while riding Snow White’s Mine Train.
You will find an abundance of complimentary (and unlimited!) Christmas treats throughout the Magic Kingdom during the night of your party . For those specialty treat locations, keep your eyes peeled for big inflatable peppermint sticks to signify treat locations.
For families with allergy concerns, almost every snack location will offer allergy friendly treats. Definitely feel free to ask a cast member what your options are! Here’s a quick glance at last year’s event-exclusive treats and their locations:
As for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party dining, only select restaurants will remain open during the party. In our opinion, it’s best to eat dinner before the party starts so you can take advantage of all the free snacks and save time for entertainment instead of a sit down meal.
Although we are still waiting to receive final word on the 2021 Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas party, Disney has included some special treats in years past. One of the add on options in years past has been the MVMCP dessert party. Just like the special Disney dessert parties held on normal operating nights, these events will provide guests with holiday themed treats as well as a special view for the fireworks.
The pricing options for both parties do range from $69-$84 for adults and $41-$50 for kids aged 3-9. It’s also important to note that this is in addition to the price of your Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas party ticket. Although we do love the fireworks at this event we simply don’t find the dessert party worth it at this price point. Especially when you consider that free cookies are included with your MVMCP ticket.
Rare character meet and greets are a huge perk to attending Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Once you get your wristband, you’ll be able to line up for any special very merry Christmas party meet and greets you have your heart set on.
In our opinion, don’t run to the very merry Christmas party meet and greets when you first arrive. This is especially true for the most popular characters such as the seven dwarfs, Santa Goofy, and Mickey Mouse. We recommend you wait until later in the night, specifically after Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks at 10 p.m. You’ll experience significantly shorter wait times then for most very merry Christmas party meet and greets!
A: In our opinion, there is no better way to celebrate the Christmas season than at The Most Magical Place On Earth. For the one-of-a-kind experiences that this event has to offer, it’s 100% worth the extra splurge if it is something that fits into your vacation budget. Beyond great snacks, seeing the characters dressed in their holiday best, live shows and exclusive firework shows, the sight of Cinderella’s Castle all lit up with decorations hung from every rooftop is an unforgettable memory in and of itself.
A: The actual party kicks off at 7:00pm, but guests are allowed into the park as early as 4:00pm to hop onto a few rides before.
A: Based off of last year’s ticket pricing, and adult ticket will range from $105-$148 and a children’s ticket will vary from $100-$142. Tickets purchased during the beginning of the season will cost less than tickets purchased closer to Christmas. It’s important to note that the prices shown here are based on years past, and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party costs may change in 2021.
A: No, unfortunately all Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party tickets are non refundable.
A: Yes. You can make FastPass selections between 4pm and 6pm. After 6pm, FastPass becomes unavailable. The reason for this is because there are much shorter wait times during the event vs. a typical day at the park.
A: While Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party 2021 dates have not yet been released, we will be posting them here as soon as Disney makes the announcement! Our best guess is mid April or early May, so definitely check back here every so often throughout that time period.
