This is our one day itinerary for Magic Kingdom park at Walt Disney World! From our experience it might be tough to see and do everything at Magic Kingdom within one day, however with the right game plan you can accomplish a lot. It’s also important to understand that things such as how old your children are, if you are using the Disney Genie+, and if you have Disney World early park entry will also impact your one-day itinerary. Not to mention that the newest Magic Kingdom attractions, such as Tron Lightcycle Run and Tianas Bayou Adventure, are operating under the virtual queue system, which will also impact your itinerary. However, we will cover all of this below.
As discussed above, there are several factors families must consider when putting together or picking a one-day itinerary at Magic Kingdom Park. These factors are if you plan to purchase the Disney Genie+ or individual lightning lanes if you plan to stay at an official Disney World hotel and take advantage of the extra half hour in the morning, or if you plan to stay off-site and rope drop. We would say, regardless, doing everything at Magic Kingdom within one day is almost impossible when you take into account the character meet-and-greets, parades, and fireworks, and we always suggest at least two days when visiting this park.

Our team members at The Park Prodigy have found that arriving early and staying late are two very important aspects of your Magic Kingdom park plan! This Magic Kingdom itinerary does NOT include Disney Genie+ selections and for this reason will be the cheapest option for families looking to get the most out of their day with no additional expenses. It also does NOT include a midday break, and it is best suited for families with older children and young teens. It’s also important to note that the newest Magic Kingdom attractions, such as Tron Lightcycle Run and Tianas Bayou Adventure, are operating on the virtual queue system, so guests will have to join at 7:00 AM and return to the ride when their boarding group is called. For this reason, we did not include these in the itinerary below.
