Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Disneyland opened in January of 2020 in Disneyland California. This highly anticipated themed land quickly become a favorite Star Wars and Disney fans alike. The location the land was built was new to explore as it was previously a back stage area of the park. Opening just 8 months after its Walt Disney World counterpart, the lands are nearly identical. With the same popular rides, restaurants and Star Wars characters.

When Did Galaxy’s Edge Open at Disneyland?

Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland brings a world of galactic wonder is set on the Outer Rim of space. The land is set in the small town of Black Spire Outpost, which has a similar feel to Tatooine. Disneyland’s Galaxy’s Edge is a wonderful place to explore for Star War’s fans of all ages. So, where is Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge Located in Disneyland? The Disneyland Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge is located in back left corner of the park. Situated between Critter Country and Fantasyland, there are three ways to access Disneyland’s Galaxy Edge. The main entrance is located directly in front of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Frontierland. To get to the main attraction Rise of the Resistance, use the entrance located directly passed Critter Country. And the final entrance is located at the edge of Fantasyland just passed the Red Rose Tavern as you enter Frontierland.

How to Get to Star Wars Galaxy Edge Disneyland 2023

  • There are 3 ways to get into Disneyland’s Galaxy’s Edge 2023. You can enter/ exit from the edge of Fantasyland and Frontierland, Frontierland, or just passed Critter Country’s Hungry Bear restaurant.

No matter which route you take into Battu, you will be meat with some of the most immersive land transitions you will see in a Disney Park. If there is one thing Disneyland knows to do, it’s use its space. When planning where to exactly put this other worldly land, imaginers used the design of the existing areas to transport guests directly into another galaxy. The land transitions are one of the largest differences between Disneyland and Disney World’s Galaxy’s Edge.

What Rides Are in Star Wars Land at Disneyland 2023?

  • Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run
  • Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland features two new main attractions. The first of the Galaxy Edge Disneyland rides that opened was the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. On this Star Wars attraction Disneyland, guests are invited on a thrilling interactive smuggling mission. You can quite literally take control of the fastest ship in the galaxy. This ride gives me similar vibes to Star Tours, so if you enjoyed that one you will definitely love this.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is an experience. This is a must do at Galaxy’s Edge. It’s an extremely immersive battle against the First Order, complete with multiple ride systems unlike anything before at Disneyland. This is very popular, but very worth it. Rise of the Resistance is by far the most popular Disneyland Star Wars rides.

Interactive Experiences at Galaxy’s Edge Disneyland 2023

Sure, fireworks in front of the castle is a magical location. But have you ever watched fire works from a galaxy far far away? At Disneyland’s Galaxy’s Edge you can! There is nothing quite like posting up with a glass of Blue Milk in front of the Millennium Falcon to watch Disneyland’s night time spectacular. And that’s not all you can do in Batuu! Have you ever dreamed of designing your own lightsaber? Or how about making a droid in Disneyland Galaxy’s Edge? Those are all possible to do in Star Wars land!

What Else Can You Do at Disneyland’s Galaxy’s Edge?

  • Savi’s Workshop – A specialized shop where guests can create and purchase their own custom lightsabers
  • Droid Depot – A shop where guests can create and purchase their own custom droid
  • Fireworks in Galaxy’s Edge – Catch the Disneyland firework show from Galaxy’s Edge for a one of a kind experience

In addition to the two main attractions, guests can participate in several other interactive experiences while in Disneyland Star Wars Galaxies Edge. You can participate in the ceremonial events of making your own light saber, creating a droid from complete scratch, and you can watch the fire works all in Galaxy’s Edge!

Ticket Prices for Star Wars Disneyland 2023

Unfortunately, we have come to expect extra fees and uncharges at the Disney Parks. While that is true with the replacement for the Disney Fast Pass system, it’s not true for Star Wars: Galaxy Edge Disneyland! There is no additional fee to enjoy Galaxy’s Edge! Just like you can experience Frontierland or Tomorrowland, you can enjoy Disneyland’s Galaxy’s Edge with no additional ticket fee.

Does Disneyland’s Galaxy’s Edge Cost Extra?

  • Luckily there is no extra fee for Disneyland Galaxy’s Edge ticket price. The only thing you need to purchase to enjoy Galaxy’s Edge is your Disneyland park ticket!

If you haven’t visited a Disney Theme park since 2019, there is one additional step you need to take to enjoy Star Wars: Galaxy Edge Disneyland. Along with your park ticket, you will also need a valid theme park admission to Disneyland Park. Make sure to plan your trip at the right time since Disneyland also has date based prices!

And there truly is no land at Disneyland that does food like Galaxy’s Edge. This is the only land where you can have every meal at a different restaurant! So let’s go through all of the dining options in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge included in your Disneyland Ticket!

Every Restaurant in Disneyland Star Wars Galaxy Edge

  • Docking Bay 7 Food & Cargo – Serving lunch and dinner, visitors are invited to fuel up on “galactic grub” at this eatery. This restaurant lives in a working hangar bay and offers dishes prepared with ingredients from across the galaxy! This is also where you can mobile order the viral Black Caf Cold Brew!
  • Ronto Roasters –  Here you can find the only breakfast item served in Galaxy’s Edge Restaurants, the Ronto Morning Wrap! Here at this exotic meat stall features a savory grilled sausage and roasted pork wrap. All while the pitmaster droid turns the mechanical spit.
  • Oga’s Cantina – This local cantina specializes in fantastical alcoholic drinks. All sourced with ingredients from across the galaxy and includes musical entertainment courtesy of a droid DJ.
  • Milk Stand – The backstory of the Star Wars Milk started in Star Wars: Episode IV—A New Hope. Where Luke Skywalker can be seen enjoying blue milk. And the green milk derives from Star Wars: Episode VIII—The Last Jedi. No visit is complete without trying this frosty confection.
  • Kat Saka’s Kettle: You can’t miss the “Outpost Mix” here—a sweet, savory snack made with popcorn. The backstory alleges that this joint is “run by the grain merchant Kat Saka and offers customers a unique taste of Batuu.” A true Star Wars experience.
  • Jat Kai’s Coolers: J1 & J2 – These snack stands are where you can find the famous round Coca-Cola bottles! It’s also worth grabbing the most delicious garlic chips that have a rotating flavor profiles!

As you can guess, the food in Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland is some of our favorite food in all of Disneyland Park. Our perfect Star Wars day would be to start at Ronto Roasters for their breakfast wrap! After riding some of the best rides in Disneyland, enjoy a lunch at Docking Bay 7. Followed by a Ronto Wrap for dinner while you wait for the fireworks! No matter how you dine, the food at Disneyland Star Wars Land won’t disappoint!

Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge Character Meet and Greets

One of the many things that the Disney Parks are known for are the character meet and greets. Unfortunately there are no official Star Wars meet and greets in Disneyland. However guests will be delighted to see some of their favorite Star War characters walking around in this themed area, including Rey, Kylo Ren, Stormtroopers, Vi Moradi, and Chewbacca! One of the most recent exciting character events happening at Disneyland is the introduction of the Madalorian and Grogu!

Mandalorian Meet and Greet at Disneyland 2023

  • As of November 18th, 2022, you can now see the Mandalorian and Grogu wandering the streets of Galaxy’s Edge! There are no specific times or locations to meet the Mandalorian. So keep your eyes pealed for this rare character interaction!

It’s important to note that while there are characters from the Star Wars franchise roaming around, none of them are official meet and greets. An official meet and greet is a designated time and location a character will appear. At Star Wars Land in Disneyland, there is no official time or place you can met or expect a character to be. All characters in Galaxy’s Edge are random and not scheduled in advance.
