If you’re trying to figure out the best way to get on Rise of the Resistance we will always lean towards the Disney Genie+ lighting lane option as it is a premium product which will allow you to wait in a shorter line. Of course as you’ll see there can still be a game plan for trying to pick the best time to ride Rise of the Resistance if you do decide to wait in the regular que.

As a general rule of thumb, we recommend making a left once guests pass Hollywood Boulevard and walk towards the Muppets section of Hollywood Studios. Here guests can enter the quickest Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge entrance.

Is Rise of the Resistance worth a 2-hour wait?

As a general rule of thumb, we do find Star Wars Rise of the Resistance to be worth a 2-hour wait especially if you are a Star Wars fan. And on the flip side, one of the reasons we would say it is worth such a long wait is even if you are not a Star Wars fan we simply don’t speak with many guests who do not enjoy this ride. It’s one of the newest and most technologically advanced rides in all of Walt Disney World ride now and simply a must-do during your next Disney World trip.

Can You Wait In Line For Rise of the Resistance?

Next we are going to look at another very popular question that follows how to get on Star Wars Rise of the Resistance, and that is does Rise of the Resistance have a standby line? And yes, Star Wars Rise of the Resistance does have a standby line which guests can take advantage of for free. The main reason why this question comes up so much is Star Wars Rise of the Resistance used to manage attendance using  a virtual line that guests would have to join using the My Disney Experience App. And one of the biggest downfalls to this system was that it was not guaranteed if guests would be able to even join the virtual que making it extremely difficult when trying to figure out how to get on Rise of the Resistance.

However that system is no longer in place and there is a standby line for Rise of the Resistance. Of course now guests are trying to figure out when is the best time to join the standby line for the ride, and they might be asking should we rope drop Rise of the Resistance? , or possibly wait until later in the day? And we would say it really all depends if you plan to be one of the first guests in the park then we would always suggest to rope drop however as you’ll see below you also always have the option to upgrade to the Star Wars Rise of the Resistance lightning lane.

What is the Fastest Way to Get on Rise of the Resistance?

As a last resort if both of the options mentioned above do not work for you then we do find that wait times for Rise of the Resistance do tend to be less later on in the day after 5:00 PM. With that being said it’s not the quickest way onto the ride but in general it can still have a shorter wait time then during the middle of the day.

All you need to get a Rise of the Resistance Boarding lightning lane selection is your smartphone with the My Disney Experience app downloaded and your party’s Disney Hollywood Studios ticket reservation connected to your My Disney Experience account!
