We love Park Hoppers! Basically, the Disney World park hopper ticket will grant you admission to multiple Walt Disney World theme parks on the same day. An example of this is guests with a park hopper ticket can visit EPCOT in the morning, and then go see the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom at night. This is a great option for guests looking to get a lot done in a short amount of time!
One thing to keep in mind is all park hopping options are an additional add-on cost to your regular Walt Disney World ticket which we will cover later in this post!
Park Hopper option: The parks included in regular Park Hopper ticket are Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, or Animal Kingdom.
If you’re wondering, “what is the difference between the Disney Park Hopper vs Park Hopper Plus?” you’ve come to the right place.
With a standard theme park ticket, you will receive admission to one theme park per day for each day of your ticket. You can pick a different park each day (either Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, or Animal Kingdom) but you can only visit one per day.
There are three different types of Park Hopper upgrades you can add to your ticket:
We discussed a regular park hopper ticket will grant you admission to the Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, or Animal Kingdom.
Water Park and Sports option: By upgrading to this option, you can visit one theme park per day PLUS a certain number of visits to a water park or other Disney fun (Disney Blizzard Beach water park, Disney Typhoon Lagoon water park, NBA Experience, ESPN Wide World of Sports complex, Oak Trail Golf Course, Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course, Winter Summerland Mini Golf). A one-day ticket allows one visit, a three-day ticket allows three visits, and a four-day ticket allows…you guessed it, four visits, and so on. This option will allegedly be available beginning on Sunday, March 7. **At this time, Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon remain closed, although Blizzard Beach is slated for reopening on March 7, 2021, as well.
Park Hopper Plus option: So, what is Park Hopper Plus option? With this option, you get the most perks; you can visit more than one park on the same day PLUS enjoy the water parks and other Disney fun. The Park Hopper with Plus option set-up is the same as the Water Park and Sports option, where a one-day ticket allows for one visit, three-day tickets allows for three, etc. This Hopper Plus option will also become available on March 7.
It was recently announced that certain “modifications” will be part of the Park Hoppers for the time being to help manage attendance and physical distancing, we definitely would still recommend this option if you plan to visit multiple parks in one day.
Currently, Disney has set specific “Park Hopper hours” during which this option is available to add-on to your tickets. The park hopper hours will start at 2:00 p.m. every day and end at the park’s scheduled close time. With this update, guests are required to make a Disney park Pass reservation for the first park they plan to visit AND enter that first park prior to visiting another, as per the new modifications. A park reservation is not required after that first park, Disney announced.
**Please note that CURRENTLY the ability to visit multiple parks is subject to a park’s capacity limitations. In the event that the Park Hopper option is unavailable at a certain park, guests will be notified in real time via a notification from the My Disney Experience app, which we definitely recommend you download prior to your trip. (Planning your upcoming trip? Check out on guide on booking Disney for 2021 and 2022.)
A common “hack” of the park hopper pass is that you can hop over to Star Wars: Galaxies Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on a full capacity day. However, there is a drawback to this: You won’t be able to ride Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. To ride this ride, Disney’s Hollywood Studios has to be your main park for the day.
Why? Because this brand new ride operates on a virtual queue only, and is operating at a limited capacity. Simply put, it just doesn’t have the reservation capacity to support the added crowd park hoppers would bring.
Additionally, park hopping is currently being capped at a certain undisclosed amount each day. That means there’s a chance you could arrive to a second park and not allowed entry. A good rule of thumb is to not wait too late in the afternoon to hop parks.
As far as Disney Park Hopper Plus cost, a standard one-day ticket is listed as starting at $109, and prices go down from there based on how many days you select.
For a Disney Park Hopper Plus ticket price comparison:
If you plan on going to water parks, golfing and more, AND heading to the parks, this option is definitely worth it. If you don’t plan on going to the Disney Park Hopper Plus water park, including Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon, don’t feel the need to upgrade to the Disney Park Hopper Plus option. If you’re wondering whether you should get the Park Hopper or Park Hopper Plus, it really does come down to the water parks and the other Disney fun (IE: golfing) and what you plan to do on your trip.

The Disney Park Hopper Plus option also adds another day to your valid use period, just like the Water Park and Sports option. A 6 day Park Hopper Plus ticket with a start date of November 1 is valid any six days from November 1 to November 10, and so on
