This article is your complete guide to Disney World’s Lightning Lane Single Pass rides! Since the overhaul of Disney’s skip-the-line service back in 2021, there have been a lot of changes to the system. Including another name change as recently as summer 2024. That’s why we wanted to take the time to break down exactly how the Lightning Lane Single-Pass works, the Lightning Lane Single-Pass cost, and how you can purchase one.
SPECIAL NOTE: If you need help picking the best time to visit Walt Disney World for your next vacation, be sure to check out our Disney crowd calendar!
The Single-Pass Lightning Lanes at Disney World are pay-per-ride selections at all four Disney World theme parks. The attractions you can use this skip-the-line service for are some of the most popular attractions in all of Walt Disney World. While the price of the Single-Pass Lightning Lanes will change based on the time of year you visit, the prices we have seen so far range from $10-$25 per person, per attraction. It’s also important to note that these Single Lightning Lane selections at Disney can sell out when the booking windows open for Disney World Hotel guests. So it’s so important to understand how this version of the LL system at Disney World works for your next trip!
One trick we have learned on how to secure a Single Pass Lightning Lane is to pay attention to ticket pricing. And the reason is, Walt Disney World theme park tickets fluctuate based on the time of year you visit. So the best way to give yourself a chance to grab one of the Single-Pass LL attractions is to compare the cheapest Walt Disney World tickets. The cheaper the tickets the more likely it is that the parks won’t be as crowded during that time of year. This will result in fewer people buying Lightning Lanes!
The only difference between all three versions of Lightning Lanes is what attractions you can skip the line for and the price point. A Single-Pass LL is just that, a pass to one single attraction. While a Multi-Pass LL grants you access to skip the stand-by line on multiple rides throughout your day. And the newest offering of Lightning Lanes is the Premier Pass, which allows you go to on any ride that participates in the LL system once per day at any time you’d like.

The rides currently available through the Disney Lightning Lane Single-Pass system include Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Star Wars Rise of the Resistance, Avatar Flight of Passage, and Tron Lightcycle Run. We have seen Disney add or remove rides from this offering depending on the time of year or construction around the park. That’s why we always recommend to check the Disney World Website for official listings.

Single-Passes can range anywhere from $10-$25 per person, per ride. As we mentioned earlier, the prices will fluctuate based on the day, time of year, and which park you plan on visiting. But on the plus side, you can now see exactly how much the pass will be in advance! On the Disney World App, you’re able to look at how much the Disney World Multi Pass and Single Pass will be up to three weeks ahead of time. You can also now purchase the pass for your entire stay up to 14 days once your booking window opens. This is a huge improvement when it comes to planning out your Disney World Vacation!
The prices below are what we have seen so far!

There are two ways to buy a Single Pass Lightning Lane at Disney World. Both ways can be found on the My Disney Experience App. The first way is to navigate to the three dashes on the bottom right corner of your screen, then tap the “Lightning Lane Passes” tab. Once there you will see the two options: LL Multi-Pass and LL Single-Pass. Tap the “Purchase Lightning Lane Single Pass: button then select the first day of your visit on the calendar provided. You will then be prompted to select the park you plan on visiting. Once you select the ride option, hit continue and select the available guests in your party to purchase the pass. Then you will be prompted to complete your purchase. The second way is to search for the Single-Pass attraction of your choice and continue to check out as well. This second option is only for the day of purchases which makes it difficult to secure the ride as they tend to sell out well in advance.
You can purchase two Single-Pass Lightning Lanes per day but they have to be two different rides. So if you’re looking to purchase a pass for TRON in the morning and TRON again in the evening, the app won’t let you. You can, however, purchase one for TRON in the morning and Guardians: Cosmic Rewind in the evening.

This answer depends on whether you’re staying at a Disney resort hotel or not! For guests staying at an official Disney resort hotel or a Good Neighbor hotel, you can book your Lightning Lane Single Pass for your entire visit 7 days before the first day of your visit at 7 a.m. EST! That means if your ticket is valid for 14 days, you could potentially book your passes three weeks in advance! However, if you’re staying at any other hotel or if you’re an Annual Pass Holder, you can only purchase and choose your Multi-Pass selections three days before the first day of your visit.
It’s important to remember that all sales and selections open at 7 a.m. Eastern Standard Time! So, no matter where you are in the world, double-check your time difference so that you can be among the first to grab the selections you want the most!

Magic Kingdom currently offers two Single Pass LL options: Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and TRON Lightcycle Run. If you have your sights set on riding Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, you will find the Single Pass price fluctuating between $10 and $12. The cost for TRON Lightcycle Run is currently set at $20. Initially, when Disney introduced the Lightning Lane system, they had two rides for each park, which, for Magic Kingdom, encompassed both the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Space Mountain. But with the opening of TRON and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, we knew some changes were going to happen!

Star Wars Rise of the Resistance is the only and honestly the most sought-after Single Pass Lightning Lane selection across Walt Disney World. You can expect Star Wars Rise of the Resistance lightning lane to cost between $15 to $25, fluctuating based on your visit’s date. Given its immense popularity, this particular lightning lane is notorious for selling out first. So if you’re looking to secure a return time, we recommend booking a discounted Disney Vacation Package to be among the first to get the opportunity to book this ride.
