What is a Single Pass Lightning Lane?

disney-world-individual-lightning-lane

The Single-Pass Lightning Lanes at Disney World are pay-per-ride selections at all four Disney World theme parks. The attractions you can use this skip-the-line service for are some of the most popular attractions in all of Walt Disney World. While the price of the Single-Pass Lightning Lanes will change based on the time of year you visit, the prices we have seen so far range from $10-$25 per person, per attraction. It’s also important to note that these Single Lightning Lane selections at Disney can sell out when the booking windows open for Disney World Hotel guests. So it’s so important to understand how this version of the LL system at Disney World works for your next trip!

One trick we have learned on how to secure a Single Pass Lightning Lane is to pay attention to ticket pricing. And the reason is, Walt Disney World theme park tickets fluctuate based on the time of year you visit. So the best way to give yourself a chance to grab one of the Single-Pass LL attractions is to compare the cheapest Walt Disney World tickets. The cheaper the tickets the more likely it is that the parks won’t be as crowded during that time of year. This will result in fewer people buying Lightning Lanes!

What’s the Difference Between Multi-Pass, Single-Pass, and Premier-Pass Lightning Lanes?

The only difference between all three versions of Lightning Lanes is what attractions you can skip the line for and the price point. A Single-Pass LL is just that, a pass to one single attraction. While a Multi-Pass LL grants you access to skip the stand-by line on multiple rides throughout your day. And the newest offering of Lightning Lanes is the Premier Pass, which allows you go to on any ride that participates in the LL system once per day at any time you’d like.

  • Multi Pass Lightning Lane – Choose up to 3 attractions at a time with a designated return time, priced anywhere from $15-$39
  • Singe Pass Lightning Lane – One attraction with a designated return time, priced anywhere from $10-$25
  • Premier Pass Lightning Lane – Choose any attraction without a return time, priced anywhere from $129 – $449 *Available beginning October 30th, 2024

How to Purchase a Single Pass Lightning Lane

lightning-lane

There are two ways to buy a Single Pass Lightning Lane at Disney World. Both ways can be found on the My Disney Experience App. The first way is to navigate to the three dashes on the bottom right corner of your screen, then tap the “Lightning Lane Passes” tab. Once there you will see the two options: LL Multi-Pass and LL Single-Pass. Tap the “Purchase Lightning Lane Single Pass: button then select the first day of your visit on the calendar provided. You will then be prompted to select the park you plan on visiting. Once you select the ride option, hit continue and select the available guests in your party to purchase the pass. Then you will be prompted to complete your purchase. The second way is to search for the Single-Pass attraction of your choice and continue to check out as well. This second option is only for the day of purchases which makes it difficult to secure the ride as they tend to sell out well in advance.

Ways to Buy a Single-Pass LL

  • Through the My Disney Experience Lightning Lane tab
  • Search for your attraction

Can You Buy Two Single Pass Lightning Lanes at Once?

You can purchase two Single-Pass Lightning Lanes per day but they have to be two different rides. So if you’re looking to purchase a pass for TRON in the morning and TRON again in the evening, the app won’t let you. You can, however, purchase one for TRON in the morning and Guardians: Cosmic Rewind in the evening.

For guests staying at an official Disney resort hotel or a Good Neighbor hotel, you can book your Lightning Lane Single Pass for your entire visit 7 days before the first day of your visit at 7 a.m. EST! That means if your ticket is valid for 14 days, you could potentially book your passes three weeks in advance! Disney World Single Pass Lightning Lane FAQ

f-a-q

Q: Can you pick any ride for Single Pass Lightning Lane?

A: No, the only attractions available for this pass type are Tron, Star Wars Rise of the Resistance, Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind, Avatar Flight of Passage, and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

Q: Do Single-Pass Lightning Lanes sell out?

A: Yes, almost all five of the single-pass lightning lanes will sell out at some point throughout the day but more often than not, in advance. So if you do have your heart set on using any of these single lightning lane rides we suggest making your lightning lane reservations as early as possible!

Q: Can you book Single Pass and Multi-Pass Lightning Lanes at the same time?

A: Yes! When your booking window opens to pre-book your return times and ride selections, you can easily purchase both passes on the same screen! This takes away the added pressure of booking your single-pass first in fear of it selling out by the time you’re done with the multi-pass purchase.

Q: How many lightning lanes can I book?

A: Guests can only book two Single Pass Lightning Lane purchases per day. And they cannot be reservations for the same ride within the same day.

Q: Do Single Pass Lightning Lanes refill?

A: On occasion, we have seen Disney World refill the Singe-Pass lightning lanes on the My Disney Experience App around 7:15-7:20 AM. However, we would say that this is the exception and we wouldn’t rely on this happening during your Disney World vacation.
