There are a few factors to consider when deciding how early to arrive at Universal Orlando. We have broken the different aspects that you will want to consider:

What Time to Arrive at Universal Studios Orlando?

  • Arriving for Regular Park Opening:  Arrive at the turnstiles 30 minutes before the park opens
  • Visiting Universal from one of the On-site Universal Hotels: It can take an extra 10-15 minutes to arrive to Universal Orlandos Citywalk depending on which on-site Universal hotel you stay at.
  • Arriving via Universal Parking Garage: It takes approximately 15 minutes to walk from the parking garage so plan to arrive 45 minutes before the park opens
  • Arriving for Universal Early Park Admission: To be sure you take advantage of being one of the first in the park we recommend arriving 30-45 minutes before park opening
  • Best time to Arriving at Universals Volcano Bay: Arrive at the turnstiles 30 minutes before park opens
  • One day at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: You will want to be one of the first people in the parks arrive 30-45 minutes before park opens

It’s important that guests also give themselves a few extra minutes to go through security checkpoints and also the additional safety protocols at Universal Orlando.

What is the Best time to Arrive at Universal Orlando?


You know the saying, “The early bird gets the worm”. Well when it comes to Universal Orlando think the same thing but except for birds think of wizards. I’m sorry that was a bad joke!

What I’m trying to say is regardless of why you are visiting Universal Orlando we always recommend arriving 30-45 minutes early if you’re unsure.  We find the best time to arrive at Universal Orlando is always early, especially when you’re trying to get a lot done in a short amount of time.

It’s also important to figure out if you will be taking afternoon breaks when deciding how early to arrive to Universal Orlando! This is because if you don’t and are only looking to go on a few rides the best time for you to arrive might be later on in the day!


How to Get Into Universal Studios Early?


Another aspect to consider when figuring out how early to arrive at Universal Studios Orlando is Early Park Admission. Universal Orlando early park admission allows all Park Prodigy clients and on-site hotel guests into either Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure or Volcano Bay one hour early. This can be a huge game changer for anyone who is looking to make the most out of their day. Especially if you only have one day to visit Universal.

Another tip we want to make sure to mention is if this is your first or only day visiting Universal and you still have to pick your tickets up. In this case, we recommend having your group jump onto the line to get into the park for early admission while your group leader goes to the ticket kiosk or will call to grab your tickets. This will make sure you keep your spot and you take advantage of arriving so early at Universal!

  3. Any time your visiting Volcano Bay we recommend arriving early.
  4. You’re only visiting Universal for one day and you’re trying to get as much done as possible
