Guide to Super Nintendo World Orlando in Epic Universe
Super Nintendo World is now open at Universal Orlando Resort as part of Epic Universe, officially debuting on May 22, 2025. This marks the latest Nintendo-themed land from Universal Parks, following the popular versions in Japan and Hollywood.
The land is designed for fans of the Mario franchise and beyond, featuring attractions, dining, and immersive experiences inspired by Super Mario Bros., Mario Kart, Yoshi, and Donkey Kong.
Super Nintendo World at Epic Universe includes two fully immersive lands:
Super Mario Land
Donkey Kong Country

Highlights of Super Nintendo World in Epic Universe:
Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge – This attraction uses augmented reality (AR) to immerse guests in a real-life Mario Kart race. Riders compete against each other while trying to dodge obstacles and collect items while getting to walk through Bowser’s Castle
Yoshi’s Adventure – A family-friendly ride that takes guests on a journey through the Mushroom Kingdom. The attraction offers stunning views of the park and an interactive experience where riders help Yoshi on a quest to find Captain Toad.
Donkey Kong Mine Cart Coaster – A new and exciting mine cart roller coaster that will bring the world of Donkey Kong to life. The ride features “boom coaster” technology, allowing the carts to jump tracks, just like the original video games.
Interactive Elements – Just like the existing Super Nintendo World in Japan and Hollywood, Epic Universe version will include various interactive elements, where guests can use Power-Up Bands to collect virtual coins, trigger surprises, and compete in mini-games throughout the land.
Meet and Greets – At Super Nintendo World in Epic Universe, guests can look forward to meeting Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and Toad. With the addition of Donkey Kong Country, guests will also be able to meet Donkey Kong!
Lands within Super Nintendo World
Super Mario Land – Super Mario Land aka The Mushroom Kingdom is inspired by the Super Mario games. Guests can explore Peach’s Castle, Bowser’s Fortress, hop on the back of a Yoshi, ride a Mario Kart, or play Power-Up Games. There’s also themed food and even Toadstool Cafe, which we’ve had and is delicious! Maybe even jump into the iconic green pipe and warp somewhere incredible.
Donkey Kong Country – Donkey Kong Country takes guests into the jungles of the Donkey Kong games with a completely immersive tropical landscape complete with trees, waterfalls, and even landmarks like The Golden Temple. The main attraction there is Mine Cart Madness, a roller coaster that replicates the feel of the mine cart levels from the games. The area also features themed food and merchandise, adding to the immersive experience.
When is Super Nintendo World Orlando Opening?
Super Nintendo World opens with Epic Universe on May 22nd, 2025. That’s right, we are so close to the opening date of Universal Epic Universe theme park and get to see all of this magic in just a few weeks.
Super Nintendo World Orlando features three cutting-edge rides – Donkey Kong Minecart Madness, Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge, and Yoshi’s Adventure. All three of these attractions are must-do’s at Epic Universe!
Rides at Super Nintendo World Orlando
Mine-Cart Madness: Inspired by the Donkey Kong games, this roller coaster will have you riding through a jungle-themed landscape. The ride features advanced technology that mimics jumping over broken tracks and certain movements of the mine carts from the games.
Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge: A top attraction using AR projection mapping and interactive vehicles. This ride lets you race through iconic Mario Kart courses, dodge obstacles, and compete with friends, making it feel like you’re truly inside the game.
Yoshi’s Adventure: Perfect for families, this gentle ride takes you on a whimsical journey through the Mushroom Kingdom. Riding on Yoshi’s back, you’ll help Captain Toad find hidden eggs in a delightful adventure fun for all ages.
Yes, one of the features in Super Mario Land at Universal Studios Orlando is the Power Up bands, which allow guests to enjoy interactive games. You have to buy a Power Up Band, to get access the the activities in Super Nintendo World. Which, you’ll want to do to collect coins and top the leaderboards! Super Nintendo World Power-Up Band costs $42 and can be purchased in the park, CityWalk or Universal Orlando hotels.
These Power Up Bands allow you to participate in virtual-reality experiences through mini-games mini-games and physical challenges while in the park, like Goomba Crazy Crank and Koopa Troopa Power Punch. You can choose from six designs based on the Super Nintendo characters – Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Toad, and Yoshi. Once you have your Power-Up band, you register it to your Universal Orlando app, which allows you to keep track of your progress while you journey through the Mushroom Kingdom.
The dining options in Super Nintendo World will blow you away with adorable theming and great taste. The theming is amazing – with little Toads cooking meals around us on screens and above-average theme park food!
Dining Experiences in Super Nintendo Orlando:
Toadstool Cafe: This restaurant serves dishes inspired by the Mushroom Kingdom, such as Mario and Luigi-themed burgers, Super Mushroom Soup, and Fire Flower Spaghetti and Meatballs. The interior will feature virtual windows where Toads can be seen cooking up your meals. We recommend the Princess Peach Cupcake for anyone looking for a delicious treat!
Yoshi’s Snack Island: A quick-service spot offering snacks and beverages themed around Yoshi like Apple Melon or Mango Yoshi’s Smoothie.
Turbo Boost Treats: Another quick-service option, likely offering high-energy snacks and treats, fitting for those who need a quick recharge while exploring the land.
Bubbly Barrel – snack and refreshment stand in the heart of Donkey Kong Country that sells drinks like DK Crush Float.

Pirahna Plant Caprese – tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, asparagus, and basil pesto with greens, radish, and apple vinaigrette
Bowser’s Fireball Challenge – one-pound meatball with mozzarella cheese in mushroom marinara sauce and parsley with a Bowser-inspired puff pastry and a side of hot sauce
Luigi Burger – grilled chicken with basil pesto, melted Swiss cheese, green peppers, and spinach on a brioche bun with a side of Truffle French fries
