With that being said, there are roller coasters at Universal Studios that are great for older kiddos and teens, which we’ve separated below.

What are the best roller coasters at Universal Orlando for the family?

The best roller coaster at Universal Orlando is Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, which is located in Islands of Adventure Park. While this might be controversial, we think that there will always be a clear winner when it comes to the best Universal Orlando roller coaster 2024. While VelociCoaster might be the most intense coaster, Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure is the best Universal rollercoaster, possibly the best coaster in all of Florida! The Hagrid roller coaster offers so many incredible surprises, and no matter how many times we ride it, it never loses the magic.

Is Hagrid’s Motorbike Adventure scary?

If you’re wondering how intense is Hagrid’s Motorbike Adventure or if it is scary, you will be delighted to know that is a step down from VelociCoaster. While there are some intense moments, most guests have been able to handle Hagrid’s while they cannot handle other rides like Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit or The Incredible Hulk Coaster.

Some things to note if you are concerned, there is a Hagrid ride drop, which is a 17-foot free fall. The drop is very quick and very small, but if you are afraid of drops, this ride might not be for you. There are also high speeds and a backward launch, which can be intense and a bit too much for certain guests.

Which Universal Roller Coaster is Better? The Hulk vs. VelociCoaster

While we know that Hagrid’s is the best Universal roller coaster, you are still probably wondering what is the right coaster for spot number two. Personally, if we were to compare Hulk Coaster vs VelociCoaster, we think that the VelociCoaster is the winner hands down. The Jurassic World VelociCoaster has all of the bells and whistles and has a cohesive, fresh theme that just feels epic. Also, when it comes to how fast the attractions are, The Hulk roller coaster speed just doesn’t match up to VelociCoaster. However, we think you should try it out for yourself on your next trip to Universal Orlando.

But, each ride is unique and our opinion might differ from yours on roller coasters at Universal. That’s why we are going to compare VelociCoaster vs Hulk Coaster to see who has the better features overall.

The Incredible Hulk Coaster

The Incredible Hulk Coaster is an intensely launched Universal rollercoaster that opened in 1999 themed after Marvel Comics. The Hulk in Universal is a seated coaster, with over-the-shoulder straps and many different thrill features such as inversions, launches, loops, and corkscrews.

How fast is the Hulk ride at Universal?

  • The Incredible Hulk Coaster’s max speed is 67 mph which comes with an intense launch system right at the beginning of the ride.

How scary is the Hulk roller coaster?

We would consider The Incredible Hulk Coaster to be very intense, and on the scarier side of coasters at Universal. This attraction features seven inversions, including a zero-G roll, two vertical loops, two corkscrews, and high-speed drops. The Hulk drop is 110 feet, with the ride reaching a max height of 110 feet total. The ride also partially runs over water, which adds to the fear factor overall.

Both Universal roller coasters we are comparing offer an extra layer of intensity, which are moments where guests experience g force. We can’t say which is better, the Hulk or VelociCoaster G force, but both are intense and should be noted.

Jurassic World VelociCoaster

While we’ve covered most info on the VelociCoaster above, it is important to recap to truly compare Hulk vs VelociCoaster at Universal. While the Incredible Hulk’s features seem just as intense as the VelociCoaster, it is clear which is the more intense roller coaster at Universal. Whether that makes it better than the Incredible Hulk or not is up to you!

How tall is the VelociCoaster drop?

The VelociCoaster, a pulse-pounding addition to Universal’s Islands of Adventure, boasts a peak height of an impressive 155 feet, making it a skyline-defining feature of the park. However, it’s the coaster’s breathtaking drop that has thrill-seekers talking. Plummeting from a jaw-dropping height of 140 feet, the VelociCoaster’s drop offers an exhilarating free-fall experience that’s not for the faint of heart.

This ride isn’t just super tall – it’s all about the awesome experience, too. Before you know it, you’re at the top, getting a cool, quick glimpse of the park around you. Then, bam! You’re zooming down super fast, just like the dinosaur the ride’s named after. That steep drop, along with the ride’s super cool design and theme, makes it a total must-do at Universal’s Islands of Adventure.
