The Universal Hogwarts Express ride is a kid-friendly Harry Potter ride, that is half a motion simulator ride. Guests can enjoy this ride not only as a replica of the Hogwarts Express in the Harry Potter franchise but also as a transportation option between parks. The Universal Hogwarts Express transports guests with park-to-park tickets between Hogsmeade at Islands of Adventure and Diagon Alley in Universal Studios Florida.

Guests riding the Hogwarts Express at Universal are given their train car with interactive video screens on the window outside and your train car doors. Throughout your journey, you will catch the sights and sounds of familiar faces of friends like Harry, Ron, and Hermione, but you also might have a run-in with a Dementor. Depending on what side you start on, your journey on the Hogwarts Express might look a little different, but we will get into that later.

Is the Hogwarts Express Worth it?

hogwarts-express-universal

One of the most popular questions families ask is if the Hogwarts Express is worth it or not? As discussed above, the main reason why this is such an important topic is that guests need to have a park-to-park ticket in order to ride the Hogwarts Express. On average, we find this ticket to be around $65 more than the Universal Orlando base ticket. However, even with the additional cost, we would say that it is absolutely worth it for any die-hard Harry Potter fan, as Universal really did such a great job bringing this iconic ride to life. On the flip side, we still believe it to be worth it for the casual fan as you still have the option to visit multiple parks within the day by upgrading to the park-to-park ticket.

How much does it cost to ride the Hogwarts Express?

As a general rule of thumb, guests simply need to make sure to have thepark-to-park option, which is a one-time fee of around $65.00. However this would also give you the ability to visit more than one theme park per day.
