I can honestly say that one of my fondest memories while working as a Candy Maker at the Disneyland Resort wasn’t solely about creating my favorite treats in Disneyland. It was the heartwarming sight of all the little princes and princesses stopping by our windows on Main Street USA. The sheer joy and magic they exuded were palpable as they had just experienced their special princess makeovers at Disney. So, if you’re interested in allowing your little one to partake in a Disney princess makeover at Walt Disney World, let’s delve into some of the most important questions first.

What are the age requirements for Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique?

• Ages 3 – 12

To undergo a royal transformation at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Disney World, aspiring royalty must be between the ages of 3 and 12 years old. Regrettably, neither you nor your child aged 0-2 can partake in this magical experience. However, you can still attend the Disney princess makeover, as each child is allowed to bring two guests along for the experience.

How long does the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Experience take?

• Depending on the type of experience you’d like to have, you should plan anywhere from 30 minutes to 1.5 hours for the royal transformation.

If you’re curious about the minimum age requirement of 3 for experiencing the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Disney World, it primarily revolves around safety recommendations. The majority of products used during this royal transformation are designed for children aged 3 and up. You have the option to enjoy the royal makeover in Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom, at Disney Springs next to Once Upon a Toy, or at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. It is highly recommended to book your experience in advance, but more on that later. Among these locations, the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Magic Kingdom stands out as the most popular choice. Who wouldn’t relish the opportunity to be transformed into their favorite prince or princess and stroll through the one and only Magic Kingdom?! However, if you’re seeking to experience this princess makeover at Disney without a park ticket, we highly recommend the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Disney Springs location due to its higher capacity.

Where is the Bippity Boppity Boutique?

• Magic Kingdom – Fantasyland
• Disney Springs – Marketplace – Temporarily Closed 
• Grand Floridian – Main Lobby – Temporarily Closed 

While the Bippiti Boppiti Boutique in Magic Kingdom reopened on August 25th, 2022, the remaining two locations have not resumed operations yet. So, if you’re currently planning your Disney vacation and wondering is Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique open, the answer is yes, but only at the Magic Kingdom. As the locations are gradually reopening, the available options are currently limited to 4 for the princesses and 2 for the knights. Like many popular experiences at Walt Disney World, Disney Bippity Boppity Boutique has a reservation system in place to ensure shorter wait times and enhance your overall experience. Reservations for this royal makeover can be made at 6 AM EST starting 60 days prior to your visit. If you’re staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, you can reserve your spot 60 days before your check-in date. During the reservation process, you’ll be required to provide a credit card to secure your appointment. Rest assured, your card won’t be charged, and no deposit will be taken for any Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique dresses or accessories you may decide to purchase during your visit.

Since the Magic Kingdom location is the only one offering Bippity Boppity Boutique packages, you will need a park ticket and theme park reservation. Theme park reservations are required to enter a theme park through January 8, 2024. Beginning January 9, 2024, theme park reservations will no longer be required for date-based tickets. For other admission types, theme park reservations may be required.

Brush and Untangle your Kiddo’s Hair Prior to the Experience

• Usually, Fairy Godmother’s Apprentices (FGAs) are only allowed to use combs for styling hair during a Disney World princess makeover. Considering that the average duration of the makeover is around 60 minutes if the princess has naturally curly hair and has to deal with the humidity of Florida, a significant amount of time may be devoted to detangling. In some cases, it might be necessary to leave the knots in, apply gel to smooth them, and brush the hair over the knots to conceal them, all in order to stay on schedule for the appointment.

Try for a Morning Reservation

• Having a morning reservation at the Bippity Boppity Boutique proves to be the best option for several reasons. Firstly, it ensures that your allotted time slot won’t be delayed due to appointments running over from earlier in the day. Additionally, you’ll have the remainder of the day to meet princesses scattered throughout the park and capture the most enchanting photos. On a more practical note, it’s worth mentioning that most Bippity Boppity Boutique dresses are made with crinoline, a fabric known for being hot and heavy. Therefore, seizing the opportunity to take those precious photos before the midday heat sets in is the ideal scenario.

If you can’t secure a morning reservation, make sure to leave plenty of time between your royal transformation and any other reservations you may have. Anything can happen when creating magic!

Bring your own Princess Dress

• The shoes offered at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Magic Kingdom are more like play shoes rather than practical footwear. The sizings are not always precise, often being labeled as double sizes (e.g., 9/10). Consequently, they may not fit properly for everyone (unfortunately, not everyone can have a perfect fit like Cinderella)!

Have your Camera Ready and/or Pay for the Disney PhotoPass Memory Maker

• The pictures are super special and important! They’re going to last a lifetime. As mentioned earlier, PhotoPass photographers will be available to capture the makeover as it happens and during the big reveal. So, think about investing in the Memory Maker (available for $69 for a day or $199 for your entire vacation), which includes access to every picture taken by a Disney photographer during your visit. (It’s a VERY expensive day).

A: Since dresses at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique are so unique, the dresses sold there are for guests with reservations. So, you can only shop at the boutique with an appointment. There are dresses available throughout the park but they will not be the same as the ones sold in the boutique.
