If you’re looking for a place to build your perfect Disney Star Wars lightsaber, Savi’s Workshop is the spot. Savis Workshop is an special shop in Batuu for all of those wanting to build a custom lightsaber. Guests can travel to Black Spire Outpost in Batuu to enter this coveted workshop full of parts, pieces and crystals to make your galactic weapon.
Meet one of Savi’s Gatherers outside his workshop, where you’ll choose one of 4 available hilt themes and receive a cloisonné pin to identify your selection. Themes include:

Savi’s Workshop is a location within Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, and at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World Resort in Bay Lake, Florida. It’s a place where guests can build their own custom lightsabers, guided by the “Gatherers,” who are experts in the Force and the ancient ways of the Jedi and Sith. The experience is designed to be immersive, making guests feel like they are part of the Star Wars universe. Reservations may be required, and there may be an additional cost associated with the experience.
You will find Savi’s Workshop near Oga’s Cantina and the Milk Stand in Galaxy’s Edge.
Many guests who have experienced the process of selecting their savi workshop lightsaber options and crafting their unique weapon would argue that the experience is indeed worth the cost. Before you even begin your quest to build a lightsaber at Disney, you’ll need to know a few key facts. The first thing you’ll want to know is how to reserve a lightsaber build. While it is possible that you could just walk into Savi’s Workshop in Galaxy’s Edge to build a lightsaber, it’s highly unlikely. Similar to building a droid at Disney World, this out-of-this world experience is extremely popular, and the space it occurs in is extremely small. That means only a few chosen Jedi knights will get to build their lightsabers each day. Disney World lightsaber reservations can be made 60 days in advance, and we suggest you make them as soon as you know which day you have a park pass for Hollywood Studios. To make a reservation at Savi’s Workshop Disney World, you can call Disney directly, make reservations online or have your travel agent (like us!) book the experience for you.
While technically you can try and walk-up to build a lightsaber, we highly recommend booking a reservation ahead. It is one of the hardest reservations to get at Disney World, so people don’t give them up easily day of.

The cost to experience Disneyland Savi’s Workshop or Disney World Savi’s Workshop is $249.99 per person (before tax), and you’ll need to have a credit card number to reserve your spot. You will not be charged until you arrive for the experience at your reserved time. But, keep in mind, Disney has a 24-hour cancellation policy, so if you book it, and you need to cancel, make sure you cancel at least 24 hours before your create your own lightsaber reservation, or you’ll be charged even if you don’t show up.

Right from the start, at Disney Savi’s Workshop, you will be invited to partake in all aspects of creating your lightsaber. This completely immersive experience will make you feel like you are in another universe far, far away. You may even forget that you’re in Disney World or Disneyland’s Galaxy’s Edge Savi’s Workshop.
The Cast Members at Disney Galaxy’s Edge Savi’s Workshop are called Gatherers because they are the ones who gather up the parts for you to create your Savi’s Workshop custom lightsaber. With new Savi’s Workshop parts for 2023, you are invited to build a custom lightsaber that reflects who you are and what’s important to you. There are four Savi’s Workshop lightsaber types, each offering unique savi workshop lightsaber parts and options.

The Savi’s Workshop lightsaber colors are not just aesthetic choices; they represent different aspects of the Force and the personality of the wielder. With the addition of Savi’s Workshop kyber crystals, you can further customize your lightsaber to resonate with your inner Force.

Once you choose your lightsaber style at the lightsaber Hollywood Studios or Disneyland location, you will be given a corresponding pin (which you can keep) and are guided into Savi’s Workshop, where you will find a space to build your lightsaber. Due to the small space that is allowed, each lightsaber builder is only allowed to have one guest join them. So, before you go, if you have a larger family and only one of you is making lightsabers at Disneyland or Disney World, make sure you know who will get to go in with the builder. Don’t forget to make a lightsaber reservation at Disneyland or Disney World to secure your spot.
When everyone is ready, Gatherers will begin to hand out the “heart” of the lightsaber – the kyber crystal. Each builder will get to choose which color he will use. After the crystal is chosen, Gatherers will bring around the tray of parts that you’ll get to choose from to build your Savi lightsaber 2023. The Savi’s Workshop lightsaber parts you are given have been determined by the style of lightsaber you chose in the beginning to build. Each part will have a couple of options so that you can customize your lightsaber, offering various lightsaber options at Galaxy’s Edge.
Throughout this experience, the chief Gatherer is telling you stories of the legacy of the lightsaber and the Jedi knights, even evoking the wise words of Yoda during his speech. It almost has a spiritual element to it as you pore into creating your own lightsaber, a unique experience whether you choose to build your own lightsaber at Disney World or Disneyland.
Once you have the hilt created, you will then be instructed to place your hilt into a designated spot on the assembly table where the blade will be magically attached. The room will darken, and each person will begin to see their blade glow under the glass cover. With the new lightsaber Disney has introduced, it is hard not to feel the Force work within the room as this is happening!
Participants then lift their customized lightsabers up into the air and celebrate the completion of this ancient ceremony. A padded carrying case for the lightsaber will be provided for safe transport of your newly created lightsaber. The Disney retractable lightsaber price is part of the overall cost, and the light saber build experience is one that many Star Wars fans consider priceless.

The first thing you’ll want to do is take it outside and take a ton of photos with your lightsaber in Batuu! But then, of course, you have a whole day yet at the park and a trip home to make you wonder what to do with this somewhat heavy, definitely long and unwieldy souvenir. The good news is that you can ship it back to your resort giftshop for the day if you don’t want to carry it around all day. Simply head over to the Droid Depot (skip the line out front and go straight to the registers in the back of the shop) or Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities to send it to your resort.
If you are flying home and don’t want to bring it as a carry-on (or try to fit it in a large suitcase), the resorts’ gift shops can help you prepare it to ship home. There will be a shipping price for this option, but the gift shop will help you by providing the box and everything you need to ship it home safely.

A: Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge Savi’s Workshop is the place for all Star Wars fan to book the lightsaber building experience. You will need both a park pass for Hollywood Studios and a park ticket to enter the area.
A: You will need to make reservations ahead of time (up to 60 days) by calling, going online or having your travel agent book a specific date and time. You will need a credit card to reserve your time.
A: The Disney World lightsaber price is currently $249.99 per person (plus tax). Each person can only build one lightsaber, and no more than one additional person can attend with person making the lightsaber.
A: While there is only one price to make your own lightsaber at Disney World, you will have four styles of Savi’s lightsaber options to choose from, multiple elements to choose for each Galaxy Edge lightsaber part and at least four colors of Kyber crystals to pick from, making the customizable options quite plentiful.
A: The minimum age to be a builder of a lightsaber is 5 years old and the child must be accompanied by someone at least 14 years old. The height of the table where most of the building takes place may even be too tall for many 5-year-olds, so you might want to consider your child’s height and desire to build a lightsaber before signing him or her up.
A: The blade alone is 34” long and it is inserted into a hilt that is 8-10” long so with the blade attached, it will be somewhere around 40” long. While the blade can be detached, it is not collapsible – it is one entire, complete piece.
A: While the price for a 30-minute activity may seem a big high to some people, the experience of building your own lightsaber is priceless. The lightsaber is made of good quality materials and makes an incredible souvenir to be displayed in your home for years to come.
