How Much are the Cabanas at Volcano Bay?

The recent price range for Volcano Bay cabanas is $399.99 up to $1,200 for the standard cabanas and $699.99 to $1,800.00 for the family-size cabanas. Cabana prices are dynamic — they shift based on demand, season, and availability. Please keep in mind this does not include admission to Volcano Bay, which is still separate. Here’s the current pricing breakdown:

Volcano Bay Cabanas Prices

  • Standard Cabana (six guests): $399.99 – $1,200 per day
  • Family Cabana (sixteen guests): $699.99 – $1,800 per day

Summer and holiday weekends push prices toward the higher end, while slower winter and fall dates are considerably cheaper. And remember: cabana rental is separate from park admission — you’ll need to budget for both.

Pro tip: If you’re flexible, wait until the afternoon. Universal typically offers 30% off any remaining cabanas later in the day once earlier guests leave. It’s a gamble, but a worthwhile one if you’re willing to enjoy the morning on your own and upgrade midday.

What are the Different Volcano Bay Cabana Rentals?

volcano-bay-universal-studios

The cabanas at Volcano Bay offer a luxurious and private experience for visitors and are priced by Upper Cabanas, Lower Cabanas, Stand-alone Cabanas, and Family Cabanas. There are only 51 different cabanas in total, and they do book up quickly, especially during the busier times of years of the year, so we always highly recommend reserving yours as quickly as possible.

Differences between the Cabanas at Volcano Bay?

  • Upper Cabanas: Located on the second floor of two-story structures. These offer better views and more patio space, but come with a slightly higher price tag.
  • Lower Cabanas: Ground-level units that are easier to access — a great option for guests with mobility concerns or families with young kids who don’t want to navigate stairs.
  • Single Cabanas: Freestanding units that offer more privacy than the stacked two-story options. Ideal if you want to feel more secluded.
  • Family Cabanas: The largest option, accommodating up to 16 guests. There are only 2 family cabanas in the entire park, which means they book up faster than anything else. If a family cabana is on your wishlist, book as soon as possible.

Which Cabana Location Is Best?

Location matters when choosing a Volcano Bay Cabana. Cabanas near the wave pool put you close to the park’s most popular attractions. If you’d rather have a quieter, more laid-back base, cabanas near Runamukka Reef offer a more relaxed atmosphere — great for families with younger kids.

Volcano Bay Cabana vs. Premium Seating — Which Is Right for You?

Not sure a full cabana is necessary? Premium seating at Volcano Bay is a solid middle ground. Premium seating allows you to have your sheltered area. Although not enclosed like the private Volcano Bay cabana, it’s still a good option if you want to keep to yourself. Premium seating also includes padded lounge chairs as well as an adjustable shade canopy. Plus, there’s a built-in storage lockbox for when you feel like getting up and dipping your toes. Some Volcano Bay premium services include meeting an escort who will guide you to your reserved seating area and getting an attendant who takes care of your food and drink orders!

What are the Volcano Bay Premium Seating Prices?

  • $49.99 – $139.99 per person per day

If you have a smaller group, we would suggest premium seating. Especially since it is more budget-friendly and has a great benefit with the built-in safe so you don’t have to rent a locker in addition. It’s hard to go wrong with any Volcano Bay premium services.

Is a Volcano Bay Cabana Worth It?

volcano-bay-beach-premium-seating

Should you get a cabana at Volcano Bay? In our opinion, it depends on how you’re spending your day. If you’re planning to be at the park all day and have a group of 4–6 people, a cabana often makes financial and practical sense — especially when you split the cost. The shade, food delivery, and having a guaranteed spot to return to takes a lot of stress out of a full day at a water park. That Florida sun is no joke.

If you’re only staying a few hours, or it’s a smaller group of 1–2 people, premium seating or arriving early to grab a good lounge chair might serve you better.

And if budget is the concern: arriving early is the best free strategy. Coming in right at opening gives you the pick of open chairs before the crowds settle in.
