This article is your complete guide to finding out how far in advance you can book a Disney vacation! Guests can begin booking their Disney World hotels between 499 and 550 days in advance, Disney World vacation packages, and ticket-only orders between 365 and 499 days in advance. Typically, Disney will often release the next year’s vacation packages and ticket pricing around May or June of the current year. So if you’re planning a trip to Disney World in 2026, you can start booking your Disney Parks vacation in May or June of 2025!

How Far in Advance Can You Book Disney World?

Guests can typically book Disney Resort hotels between 499 and 550 days in advance and Disney World vacation packages and ticket-only orders between 365 and 499 days in advance. However, we would say that most guests typically prefer to wait for Disney World vacation package prices to be released. This often happens around May or June of the current year for the following year. The reason guests wait for a Disney vacation package is that they can put as little as $200 down per room as long as their vacation isn’t last minute (30 days or more away) and pay their Disney vacation off over time. This is different from room-only reservations, which require a one-night deposit and can not be modified to a vacation package later on.

How Far Out Can You Book Disney World?

• Disney World Room Only Reservations: 499 days in advance of your booking date
• Disney World Vacation Package Reservations: 365-499 days in advance of your booking date
• Disney World Ticket Only Orders: 365-499 days in advance of your booking date
• Disney World Dining Reservations: 60 days in advance of your dining date at 6:00 AM
• Disney World Magic Extras Collection: 60 days in advance of your dining date at 12:00 AM

How Far in Advance Can You Book Disney Resort Hotels?

You can book a Disney World hotel room reservation at least 499 days ahead of your check-in date! The reason that we say at least is that typically, Disney only has room-only reservations available for booking no more than 520 days in advance. So we recommend always keeping an eye out once you start to hit the 499 to 550-day timeframe for your best options on Walt Disney World Resort Hotels.

When Can I Book a Disney Hotel?

• At least 499 days before the first night of your stay

It’s important to note that this type of booking does not include your theme park tickets or a dining plan. So guests booking just their Disney Resort hotel will have to make a one-night deposit and pay the remaining balance upon check-in. We have also found that guests cannot upgrade their room-only reservations to a vacation package later on, so it might not be the best fit for families who are looking for peace of mind and to pay off their Disney World vacation over time or to get the best deals on their Disney World trip. However, we do find room-only reservations to be a great fit for families who have their eyes on a very popular Disney property room, like a Savanna View Room at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, which can sell out instantly.

When Can You Book a Disney World Vacation Package?

Disney World vacation packages are typically released in May or June for the upcoming year, which is between 365 days and 499 days in advance. All 2025 Disney World vacation packages are now available, and guests can book these vacation packages with as little as $200 down as long as their check-in date is more than 30 days away. Another great benefit to booking a Disney World vacation package in advance is you can always upgrade your package if Disney does release a better deal in the future (of course, based on availability). When booking your vacation package, you can also book your Disney Dining Plan! This plan can save you time and money on some of the most popular restaurants at Disney World.

Can I Book Disney World Packages for 2025?

Yes! Disney has officially released all authorized Disney vacation packages for 2025. These packages will allow guests to book their entire package, including a Disney hotel, theme park tickets, and a Disney Dining Plan for as little as $200 down. One of the major things you can not purchase at the time of your vacation package is the Disney World Lightning Lane. You can purchase these in the My Disney Experience account 7 days before your check-in date if you’re staying at a Disney Resort Hotel and 3 days before your first park day for all other guests.

How Far in Advance Can You Book Disney World Tickets?

In recent years, we have seen Disney release ticket prices right when they release vacation packages for the following year, which is May or June of the current year. We also typically will see Disney release Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party ticket prices for the current year in May and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Ticket prices in July. It’s also important to note that guests no longer need to make a Disney Reservation with your ticket.

How Early Can I Purchase My Disney Work Tickets?

• Disney World park tickets can be purchased 365-499 days in advance. We typically see tickets for the next year released in May or June of the following year.

One thing to keep in mind when booking so far in advance is Disney’s Ticket Cancellation Policy. All Disney Theme Park or Water Park Tickets and Packages are nonrefundable. While you can not get your money back on unused tickets, you may be able to change the dates of use of your tickets to fit anything that may come up that interferes with your schedule. There is also a Hurricane Cancellation Policy exemption where if the National Hurrican Center issues a Hurricane Warning for Orlando or the area you live 7 days before the first day of your scheduled arrival date, you may be able to cancel or reschedule your tickets and vacation packages.

How Far in Advance Should I Plan a Disney Vacation?

In our opinion, from helping our clients, we don’t see the benefit of waiting to book your Disney World vacation. Guests who book their Disney World vacation packages early can do so for as little as $200 down per room and pay their vacation off over time. Families who also do decide to work with a company like The Park Prodigy will also have someone who will continue to search for new deals and promotions that Disney releases even after you book your Walt Disney World vacation package! Disney also has a very friendly refund policy, with guests being able to get their full $200 deposit back as long as they cancel before the 30-day payment deadline.

What are the Benefits of Booking a Disney Trip Early?

• Small Deposit – Disney only requires a $200 deposit for any package booked. If you are booking only a resort stay, you’ll need to make a one-night stay payment to reserve your resort and then build the package in later if you desire.
• Flexibility and Refundability – If you need to change dates or cancel altogether, Disney World is historically very flexible with transferring your deposit to the updated stay or even refunding your deposit if you need to cancel altogether.
• Getting the Room or Resort You Want –  If you’re traveling during a historically busy season (such as Christmas or Spring Break), you might want to get your favorite resort reserved right away. And if your resort is one of the smaller resorts, or it has a limited number of rooms that meet your needs (like handicap accessible), booking early provides you the assurance of knowing you have your perfect room reserved.
