Are your Walt Disney World tickets refundable?

However guests can always upgrade any wholly unused theme park tickets to visit during a different date.

When do my Disney World tickets expire?

The Walt Disney World current theme park expiration policies are slightly different from years past. Even if a Disney ticket has expired, if it has never been used you can still apply its value towards a new Disney World ticket.
All current issue standard Walt Disney World tickets expires after every park admission on the ticket has been used, or on the listed expiration date, whichever comes first.

Can I change the date on my Disney World ticket?

If you have already purchased your Disney World tickets and decide to change your plans, you can always add days or features to an unused ticket. You can typically apply the value of an unused ticket (or tickets that are used but did not expire) towards the purchase of any higher priced ticket or annual passes (subject to some restrictions). You can add features such as park hopping and water parks to Disney theme park tickets as well. (subject to similar restrictions)

Will I receive electronic tickets or hard tickets?

All guests who purchase discount Walt Disney World tickets from theparkprodigy.com will receive a ticket confirmation number directly from Disney. Disney World Theme Park Base Tickets Pro

The Disney World base ticket is the perfect ticket for families who prefer to take their time while exploring one theme park per day. We also find it to be the best fit for families traveling with small children as park hopping at Disney can be a lot more work when compared to Universal Orlando. Guests who buy the base ticket will not have to worry about getting on transportation with strollers in the middle of the day to go visit another Disney park. And from our experience visiting the Disney World theme parks, it can take 30-45 minutes just to park hop to another Disney park.

As a general rule of thumb, the WDW base tickets are always going to be the cheapest Disney World ticket options when compared to the park hopper tickets. 

Disney World Theme Park Base Tickets Cons

It’s important to note that not all of the four Walt Disney World theme parks have the same operating schedule with some parks closing earlier than others. This is especially true for Animal Kingdom which might close two to three hours earlier than the other Disney World parks, and the base ticket would not allow guests to park hop over to one of the other Disney World parks. However, this might not be the biggest deal to some families. Especially families simply shopping for the cheapest tickets to Walt Disney World.

The Disney World park hopper ticket is the perfect fit for families who want the ultimate flexibility within their day to visit more than one Disney theme park. For this reason, we find it to be the perfect ticket for families with older kids and teens who would like to enjoy longer days in the parks. We also find it to be a good fit for families with young children who want to spend more than one day in the Magic Kingdom. We typically recommend splitting your second Magic Kingdom day with EPCOT if that is your goal while shopping for cheap tickets to Disney World. 

Disney World Park Theme Park Ticket with Park Hopper® Option Cons

As a general rule of thumb, the Disney World park hopper ticket is always going to be more expensive than the base ticket. We also are not huge fans of the fact that guests cannot park hop over to one of the other Disney World theme parks until after 2:00 PM with the new system.

All Walt Disney World® Resort tickets which are 2 days or longer are valid for a few extra days longer than the number of admission days. This allows guests to take a break throughout their trip to do other things that Disney has to offer.

Understanding How to Access the Magic

Now that you understand all of the options for discount tickets to Disney World Orlando, there are a few add-ons that you might want to take advantage of to save time and money while in the Disney theme parks. It’s important to note that the Disney Genie+ is only available for purchase the morning of your visit in the parks and cannot be pre-purchased for Walt Disney World® Resort at this time. 

The Disney photo pass however is available for pre-purchase and can be bundles with any of the discount Disney tickets we sell on this page on the next add on page. 

What is the Lightning Lane Multi Pass?

The Lightning Lane allows guests to upgrade their tickets to skip the standby line and join a shorter line for select attractions and experiences. Guests can purchase a Lightning Lane Multi Pass, a Lightning Lane Single Pass, or both. It’s important to note that guests staying at select Disney Resort hotels can purchase their passes up to 7 days in advance of their check-in, and guests with date-based tickets can purchase 3 days in advance. 

Disney PhotoPass

Enjoy an unlimited array of photos taken by Disney PhotoPass Service, including photos taken at select dining experiences and attractions. You can add photos to your account for 30 days (from the date of first download). All media you add within the 30 days can be downloaded (subject to the Disney expiration policy) and shared with family and friends.

Will Disney prices go down in 2025?

Another popular question we receive is, will Disney prices go down in 2025? As a general rule of thumb, Disney prices typically go up as you get later into the year. In general Disney almost never brings the costs of their tickets down, especially with the increased demand over the past few years. The lowest cost of a one-day ticket in 2025 is $109 and can be as high as $159 during holidays such as Christmas Day.
